1) Visible aging or damage to the roof tiles

When your roof has been in place for a long time, it will begin to show signs of age. You may notice, for example, that the tiles are starting to slide out of place. While the occasional slipping tile can be dealt with on an individual basis, it could be a sign of worse the come. If you find yourself regularly noticing slipping tiles, it’s time for a roof replacement. 

Other worrying signs of age include mould growing over the tiles, as this indicates that damp has become a problem. This can cause the tiles to move, affecting the roof’s structure. If you notice light coming in, this is a sign that there are holes in the roof – and if the light is coming from multiple places, this is a good indicator that you need a new roof. You may also find that your home is not as warm as usual, as cold air gets in through the cracks. 

 3) Leaking 

Another key sign that there are holes in your roof is that rain is leaking into your loft or attic. Once water starts getting in, it can cause extensive damage to your home. If there are multiple leaks, the best course of action is to have your roof replaced.
